Thanks for all the replies, só, according to the replies, all i need to start is a nice friendly "huisaarts" that can redirect me to one of those places, wich was in fact the meaning of my question... Do someone knows a doctor that can help me with that issue without looking at me as if i was crazy, without comenting or question me too mutch? I prefer to leave all my answers to the experts and not to a family doctor that can screw up my life even more, expecialy in medical terms.

Thanks to all

Liefs, Diederique

Everything is a bit weird with medical services in Netherlands so I would like to answer in EU context.

There are STATE controlled medical services and
private medicals services (sometimes it can be used with more expensive private insurance).
Those private services are expensive and not covered with general insurance. I know few private TS specialist in UK for example.

So we are talking about STATE controlled medical services which are free in Sweden and UK, or state insurance based like in Germany, or private insurance based like in NL
But those services are still under state control to be available to all EU citizens (from October.2013).

And here we have general rule in all EU.
A family doctor referral is necessary to get a specialist treatment. There are exclusions, like a patient can refer itself in Scotland. Is it possible to self refer in NL? Not sure.

Hello Daniela,

Did you find a transgender friendly huisarts?

If not, if you are already insured your insurance company (probably the afdeling zorgebemiddeling) can give you a list of huisartsen who can take on new patients and you could start by checking the nearest ones. Hopefelly they can also give you an indication if a huisarts is trans friendly.

Any huisarts can prescribe you a bloodtest. In Rotterdam the tests are usually handled by a company named Starlab. You can do the actually bloodletting ( ) either at your huisarts if so equipped or at the various other locations Starlab does this. Most results come back in 2 days.
If a potential huisarts doesn't even want to do this prescribing then you should reevaluate if that huisarts is right for you.

My own 2 huisartsen and their replacement when they are not available here in Rotterdam where nice enough to inject the testosterone blocker I was prescribed by VUmc but they did NOT prescribe estrogen in a case of emergency. They simple refused because they are scared because my HRT has been so utterly bad and they don't want to be held responsible if things go so wrong I end up dead. BTW, that is a state I'm no longer afraid of, just the dieing.

As for psychological help, you can go to Transvisie (at Humanitas) for the pure gender related stuff, not much else. Or you can go to PsyQ in Rotterdam, afdeling seksuologie. Both branches in Rotterdam, Zuidplein & Kralingen have the same staff and they have a lot of experience dealing with transgender people. Can recommend them and Transvisie.

As for self medication. That's up to you. It is no more dangerous than blindly trusting the endocrinologists at VUmc. You ALWAYS have to inform yourself of ALL the things related to HRT. When things go wrong you can't trust the socalled experts, they will let you fend for yourself. It's very difficult to think clearly and come up with a workable plan when you have no testosteron and almost no estrogen due to the latter crashing. I know from experience...

Greetings from Rotterdam
Naomi
2018 There was a great war, the gods died, and the world ended.
So what's this, a dream?
Of course not. It's the world. It's ended lots of times. And then it continues, with fewer gods, and more stories.
That's not an end.
It is to the gods.
