SanneCW schreef: 27 dec 2022, 16:13 Oh my gosh, April? I'm so sorry to hear that! But how wonderful it must have been to have your GP wondering whether you were talking about FTM transition...

Anyway, you could start here:https://transfemscience.org/articles/e2 ... ent-doses/ for dosage equivalents.

As far as I know progesteron isn't part of the protocols in the Netherlands so you'll probably have to go without.

Are you using an anti-androgen right now, or is that achieved with the progesterone and sufficient estrogen levels? I don't think they particularly like mono therapy in the Netherlands either, but I see you're asking for triptorelin so maybe you're not doing mono right now'?

If you could get your doctor in Mexico to write you a recommendation for an equivalent regime in triptorelin and estrogen pills / patches / gel it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Any endocrinologist worth their salt shouldn't be fazed by having to convert estrogen enanthate SC/IM to some equivalent in pills / patches / gel / ... but I do understand their hesitancy, especially your GP's.. (And I remember having to convince my endo about gel instead of patches...)

Yeah i suppose the endo wont have a issue, but yes I am going to follow by asking my doctor in mexico for a recommendation for triptorelin and estrogen/ pills/ patches, hehe maybe a good thing about stopping taking progesteron would be a nicer mood and easier time loosing weight.

And yes it was funny trying to explain her im not ftm but it was also expected since my papers are all legally changed so its difficult for her to know.

I wonder if there is a benefit into getting eventually into a gender practictioner.

She also asked me if i wanted to get any surgeries and stuff but that was probably to see if i needed a gender specialist.

It's all about risk and experience. Dutch GPs have no experience with HRT so they don't like to be responsible for it without an endocrinologist backing them up. And the endocrinologists would rather keep it to themselves...
I know it's kinda crazy they prescribe blood pressure meds messing with your heart rate and stuff without you ever seeing a cardiologist but shy away from HRT but that's the way it is.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I'm moving in from Curaçao in February. My current regime is based on Dutch protocols (triptorelin / oestrogel) so that should be easier to transfer then yours. But I'm also way past the point of having to be diagnosed. I didn't have surgery (not even possible here and I didn't like going to Colombia for it), and I do want that. But I think the Dutch system requires you to go through the gender specialist route to get the referrals for surgery...

So I'm praying there's some inside track where I can skip the being waitlisted to be diagnosed part and go straight to getting the referrals (and being waitlisted for those 😟).

I do like the option of still seeing a therapist but that's more because I just like talking to one (to clear my head and keep me focused), not because I really need one.

I'm glad to hear you got the insurance sorted! But my goodness. Your GP knows nothing about this! I hope this doctor can read up on trans matters quickly.
- You might try to get in touch with the VUMC gender clinic for some advice, or get your GP to get in touch with them.
- Do you need someone to help you with making phone calls or such?
